John is an Assistant Attorney General in the General Litigation Division of the Office of the Texas Attorney General where he litigates on behalf of the State of Texas and its many agencies and universities. Previously, John served as an AAG in the Human Trafficking Division and Crime Victim Services Division. John has spent the majority of his nearly 20-year career in law based in Austin, TX, however, he also spent a year in Nairobi, Kenya as a legal fellow for International Justice Mission. Alongside his work as an attorney, John spent several years as a standup comedian and comedy writer. John graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Religious Studies from Rhodes College in 2002 and received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2005.
