Sam is a military veteran with leadership experience in various types of teams and organizations in the government, small business, and nonprofit sectors. Sam served in the Army for 20 years, participating in numerous deployments in support of overseas contingency operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere in the Middle East. Most of his deployments occurred as a component of the Joint Special Operations Command. Sam had a break in military service as he assisted Ian Hassell in founding the Network. Following that time, he was recalled on active duty and served for two more years, retiring from the Army in 2018. Sam then contributed as an early stage employee and equity holder in two successful technology start-ups. He now serves as the COO of MSP Growth OS. Sam graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research (Industrial Engineering). He also holds an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College (2011) and an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management (2022).
